It's a Hart 1-2 As Michael Snr Takes The Summer Meeting

Summer Meeting

I've mentioned before that I'm a bit of a saddo and like to do a bit of leaderboard watching even if it's something I'm not playing in, of course I have the excuse that I'm making sure everything is working as it should, which genuinely is the reason I check. When I looked today I saw Michael Hart with 3 birdies in the first four holes and I won't lie I thought it was last years championship finalist Michael Hart Jr, but no, it was Hart Sr upstaging his boy, well almost when it comes to the scratch score but we'll get to that!

65 players took part today and Michael came out on top courtesy of a superb gross 71, nett 64. This is Michael's lowest competitive score on record going back to 2019 and beats his previous best (73) on 1st September 2022. As already mentioned, 3 birdies in the first 4 holes and a further birdie at 17 were offset by bogey's at 2, 10, 13 and 15, nothing worse than a 5 on Michael's card is superb playing.

Scott Speirs was the best of the chasing pack, 2 shots adrift and again another excellent card from Scott, birdie net eagle at 12 the outstanding score and 9 par nett birdies makes it hard to believe he didn't win but a 9 at 8 and 6 at 15 causing the damage of an otherwise very very good scorecard.

A couple of prominent 2025 FerEx'ers, Simon Leonard and Craig Shaw made up the top 5 in 3rd and 5th, sandwiching David MacDonald in 4th.

Although no formal scratch prize for this one worth highlighting that Michael Hart Jnr pipped dad Michael Snr to the top scratch score courtesy of the BIH (35 v 37). Given there's no formal prize lets just keep harmony in the Hart household and leave it at a T1.

I told you so....Simon Leonard could smell blood and he's finally overtaken Clark Hill in top spot, thanks to his 150 points for 3rd place today. The lead is a slender 10.5 points though and fair play to Clark for his response today after "the press" had a go at him yesterday saying his form was dipping, a top 10 placing today helps him retain 3rd spot from Jim Coleman who managed 19th and slips a bit further behind but well within striking distance. Craig Shaw had his 3rd top 5 placing of the season and is breathing down Jim's neck for a place in the final 3 ball in October. Another top 20 finish from Michael Hart Jnr sees him retain his top 5 spot.

Significant moves were made by the below:
